It has been 105 years since the Old 97 tumbled down Stillhouse trestle and into the history books. September 27 marks the 105th anniversary of the Wreck of the Old 97 in Danville. Join us for this weekend of commemoration with operating N-scale model railroads racing down the tracks courtesy of Richmond, Lynchburg and Raleigh N-scale modelers. Watch for your favorite train cars as the model trains travel through detailed dioramas. On Saturday only, take a trip through time as you check out the fully restored Norfolk and Western Caboose with our tour guide and tap your toes as you listen to tunes of old-time music performed behind Science Station. Enjoy the beauty of the Butterfly Station and Garden and sneak a peek at the newest visiting exhibit, Football. Pick up a trip pass to visit our partner museums, Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History and AAF Tank Museum, for more history-related fun and discounted admissions. Get your pass stamped at all three museums and turn it in for a chance to win a free Science Center membership.
